JOY Class

Teachers- JOY Class teachers go on a rotation to lead the lesson within the classroom time of JOY Class. They are responsible for looking over the assigned lesson, teaching, and guiding discussion.

Leaders- JOY Class leaders are adults who help with various things on Sunday Mornings. They act as addition adult help in the classroom, help with service team, attend assembly, and build relationships with students. They also can act as “floaters” to help make sure we fulfill our safe sanctuary requirements.

UMYF

Food Team- Every Sunday evening, we feed our students before starting our program. We need volunteers to help buy, prepare, and serve the food. (Funds are provided!)

Small Group Leaders- During UMYF, students break out into small groups to dive into deeper conversations with one another based around the message given. Small group leaders help guide the discussions with in the small group. Leaders are given questions, prompts, and ideas to help keep the conversation flowing.

Volunteers- We always need a few extra hands to help on Sunday evenings, you could be helping with food, games, activities, or being a second adult for the small group meetings.

Fundraiser Help

We are having multiple fundraisers throughout the school year. These fundraisers will help to fund our summer missions including 2 ASP trips and a middle school mission trip. We appreciate all of your support and willingness to serve. Please review the available slots on the sign up and help us out!

Trips & Retreats

Fair Night- Every fall, we take middle schoolers to the fair one evening after school!

Fall Nighter- Calling all Night Owls!! Every October, high school students have the opportunity to have Friday-Saturday adventure that includes going to the fair, bowling, hanging out at the church, watching movies, playing games, and a lot more. It is an all night event, that our high schoolers love every year. We need volunteers who aren’t scared to hangout with teenagers all night long to help transport, participate in the fun activities, and control chaos. This is a great way to get to get to know our high school students better, and see if you can still pull off an all nighter like you did in college!

January Retreat- This is a new retreat starting in 2023, we will have middle schoolers plan and go on their retreat and then high schoolers plan and go on their own retreat. It is the same weekend, Chris will lead the middle school retreat, and Rachel will lead the high school retreat.

Beach Retreat- The beach retreat is our biggest retreat of the year. It happens every spring, adults are needed to help serve on teams, manage students, and have a great time building relationships with students. More information can be found on our retreats page!

Mission Trips

ASP- During a week in June, we participate in Appalachia Summer Project, a week long mission trip focused on home repairs. We need adults to help serve as leaders, drivers, and workers during the week. More specific information about ASP can be found on the missions page!

Raleigh Mission Week- During either July or August, we host a mission trip in our local community. Adults are needed to help transport, participate in the mission work, and organize students.
